What we process
To run a download and keep the service working, YTSave4K processes:
- The YouTube URLs you submit, in order to read available formats and prepare a file.
- Basic technical data such as your IP address, used for rate limiting and abuse prevention.
- Temporary output files created during conversion, eligible for deletion after roughly 1 hour(s) and removed when cleanup next runs.
What we do not do
You do not need an account to use the downloader. The current website does not include advertising or analytics tracking scripts. We do not sell personal information. Download jobs still create temporary records and server logs; using the service is not anonymous to the infrastructure that handles your requests.
How it is used
The data above is used only to:
- Provide the conversion and download you asked for.
- Protect the service from overload and misuse.
- Diagnose errors and improve reliability.
Storage and retention
Converted files and job records are written to temporary server storage. Completed and failed jobs become eligible for deletion after roughly 1 hour(s); cleanup runs during web or worker activity and may be delayed while the service is inactive or a file is in use. Rate-limit files contain the request IP in the filename and recent request timestamps. Old timestamps stop counting toward the limit, but these files are not currently removed by automatic cleanup.
Cookies and local storage
YTSave4K sets a language cookie with a one-year expiry and uses browser local storage to remember your light or dark theme. Public page languages follow the URL. You can remove the cookie and local storage through your browser settings; the site will use its default language or your device theme when a preference is absent.
Third parties
The server contacts YouTube and its media delivery services to retrieve metadata and media. Your browser may also contact a thumbnail host when a video preview is displayed. Those providers receive the technical information needed for their requests and apply their own policies. The current site uses system fonts; it does not request Google Fonts. Our hosting infrastructure processes requests and may retain access and error logs.
Messages you send us
If you email us, we receive your email address, the message, and any attachments you choose to send. We use these to handle your request and may keep the correspondence for follow-up or to document a complaint. Email is handled by our email provider. Do not include credentials or sensitive files in a support request.
Your choices and requests
You can clear saved browser preferences at any time. For a question about access to or deletion of information related to your use of the site, email [email protected]. Describe the request without sending passwords. We may need limited additional information to locate a record or confirm that it relates to you. Some records may need to be kept for security, legal requirements, or an unresolved complaint.
Changes to this policy
We update this page when our data handling changes. The revision date above refers to a content update, rather than the day you open this page.
